Progressive Turnout Project is bringing on paid Field Representatives, an independent contractor role from October 9th - November 8th, to talk with voters in Nevada about the upcoming midterm elections.

We know that having in person, face-to-face conversations about voting is one of the most effective ways to increase voter turnout and support for Democrats, so we are relying on our Field Representatives to get out and have these important conversations through door-to-door canvassing in the community. Having these conversations will be critical in rallying support for progressive candidates and elected officials who are fighting for working families across the country.

What is Distributed Organizing?

Our innovative Distributed Organizing program draws on the initiative and energy of community members, Democratic activists and supporters who want to get involved in the political process whenever they are able, allowing us to organize anywhere, anytime.

As opposed to working out of and reporting to a campaign office, our Distributed Organizing Program allows our paid independent contractors (Field Representatives) to work in any community, including their own! Field Representatives will go door-to-door canvassing in their own neighborhoods across the country to turn Democrats out to the polls using remote, digital voter outreach tools.

How much are Field Representatives paid?

We are paying our field reps for each complete turf assignment that they choose to do. We are compensating the completed project at the agreed fee of $75 or $100, depending on when turf assignments are completed during the day and week:

• We are paying $75 per turf assignment completed during off-peak hours (Monday through Friday, before 5:00 pm).
• We are paying $100 per completed turf assignment, started and finished between the peak hours of 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday, and anytime on Saturdays and Sundays.

How much is a turf?

A typical turf is a list of 40-60 doors, and should take 2–3 hours to knock doors and have conversations with voters.

How are Field Representatives paid?

We will pay Field Representatives through direct deposit, or send a check to your preferred address that we will have on file.

I'm already employed. Can I be a Field Representative?

Yes, as long as you are able to meet the expectations of the schedule. This is an incredibly flexible role, where you can complete canvassing assignments before work, after work, on the weekends, and at different times of the day or week.

Who can become a Field Representative?

Anyone over the age of 18.

Do I need to have any political experience?

No! Nobody is better at getting your neighbors and community members to vote than you are. We will provide you with all of the tools and materials needed to complete the turf assignments and consistent follow-up from our PTP staff about any questions you have throughout the process.
