Position Summary
We’re looking for a R&D formulator for personal care consumer products. Products more specifically for skin, hair, and body. Formulating both hot process and cold process formulations. Formulate "using existing and new technologies to support company-wide growth and future brand strategies" - from Swiss American CDMO but such a good position summary sentence I had to use it. Basically staying involved with sales, industry and supplier trends.
Position Responsibilities
Documenting formula and material activity.
Supervise pilot batches. In some cases, training mixing department staff on first run and scale up mixing.
Guide the development from concept to finished product.
Maintain main R&D laboratory organization
Maintain R&D laboratory inventory
Maintain raw material safety & analytical documentation
Create new customer formulations & samples
Reverse engineer formulations & samples
Training mixing department staff on first run and scale up mixing
Experience
Laboratory experience - ideally 3 years or more
Formulation experience with liquid, solid, and semi solid cosmetic formulations - 3 years minimum
Formulation experience with surfactant systems - 1 year minimum
Formulation experience with hot and cold process facility - 2 years minimum
Bachelors in Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, or Microbiology - plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
