Product Policy Manager, Central America & Caribbean - Trust & Safety

The Trust & Safety team at TikTok helps ensure that our global community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. You will be part of the Regional Product Policy team within Trust & Safety and will be responsible for ensuring that TikTok’s policies fit the legal and cultural environments within Central America & Caribbean. You will serve as an expert on its policy, media, entertainment, and technology landscape. You will be the go-to person and escalation point, providing local context and analysis on all Trust & Safety subjects that impact Central America & the Caribbean.



You will be deeply in tune with how our platform works - from our For You Feed (FYF) algorithm, to emerging hashtag, video and audio trends, to effects, and beyond. This role will require creative solutions, especially with moderation, quality, and vendor operations; as well as a deep understanding of the product and ways it can be abused.



What will I be doing?

• Adapt global policies to craft and implement content policies for Latin America that seek to balance global principles with on-the-ground insights.


• Analyze existing policies and procedures to identify areas of improvement; and execute data-driven research and policy development projects.


• Act as an escalation point of contact for Latin America for all Product Policy matters, including responding to emergency content safety-related cases and aligning cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Gov’t relations, legal).


• Keep abreast of recent trends in Central America & Caribbean and new tactics, techniques, and patterns from abusive parties; proactively identify and evaluate emerging content policy risks and drive solutions to help mitigate them.


• Assist regional moderation teams lead in providing comprehensive and ongoing training on policies.


• Collaborate with Global Public Policy, Product, Operations, Legal, and Public Relations teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement policies and processes.


• Help lead projects that explore regional policy effectiveness and the need for new policy formulation, leveraging available data and risk assessments.

What should I bring with me?

• 5+ years experience in policy, policy enforcement, law, or public policy.


• Deep interest in content management and online community development.


• Native language skills in Spanish and fluency in English. Knowledge of French preferred.


• Exposure to Trust & Safety, content policy, brand safety roles or another relevant field.


• Understanding of international Internet, social media and/or platform content issues.


• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, identify trade-offs, and make decisions in high-pressure situations.


• Experience managing complex research projects and proven ability to develop sound research methodologies preferred.


• Strong communication and cross-functional skills, with the ability to collaborate with different internal teams.
