Sr. Director, Product Management – Underpayments Pricing 

The Sr. Director of Product will be responsible for both strategic and tactical product oversight at R1. This role will work closely with senior leaders from operations, customers, and various internal teams to achieve business objectives. The individual selected will ensure clear definition of the product road map, success criteria, and development and deployment schedules. In this role, the Sr. Director will monitor projects/programs from inception through delivery and will manage communications with cross-functional team members and senior leadership. Given that the role spans multiple business units in an organization that is relentlessly focused on superior results, the ideal candidate would have demonstrated a willingness to drive significant business outcomes with each product increment. This will require building and maintaining credible relationships with key stakeholders and executing against specific performance requirements. We are therefore seeking candidates with a track record of quickly building trust through mastery of detail, maintaining open channels of communication, and delivering substantive results with and without direct authority. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute against a product vision for the Underpayments Recovery and Contract Modeling and Pricing value streams 

  • Develop and communicate a product roadmap as it relates to R1’s Underpayments Recovery offering and Contract Modeling and Pricing Engine; articulate the unique value proposition based on deep understanding of provider coding and billing practices, payer reimbursement methodologies, contract analysis, and operational opportunities 

  • Effectively drive outcomes across teams from feature initiation through build and ramp-up to full utilization 

  • Manage and prioritize the flow of work and product delivery schedule across both the Underpayments Recovery and Contract Modeling and Pricing Engine value streams to support key dates, deadlines, and to optimize customer value creation 

  • Consistently seek to identify new value paths for the product portfolio to maximize revenue and minimize costs 

  • Partner with the Data Science department to embed AI, including machine learning and generative AI, into Underpayments Recovery and Contract Modeling workflows 

  • Coach, mentor and develop a high-performing, inspired, and aligned team 

  • Work on efforts to drive an inclusive and diverse culture and continue to strengthen our talent pipeline 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 9+ years in the healthcare technology space 

  • 3+ years leading high performing product organizations, preferably at a technology company or technology-enabled service 

  • Familiarity with major technologies in the space, including EHRs and the competitive landscape 

  • Experience leading and launching technology solutions that require significant business process change 

  • Deep understanding of revenue integrity/capture components of the revenue cycle within hospitals and physician care settings 

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and market insights to drive strategic decision-making. 

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. 

  • Visionary mindset and ability to think creatively, identifying innovative solutions to complex challenges. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Track record of successfully implementing AI/ML features 

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $171,671.00 - $247,494.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
