Vue.js Developer [Small Team Startup]

--Job Description--
Append Media is looking for a local, reliable, and experienced Vue.js HTML/CSS/JavaScript programmer with optional experience in React, node.js and SQL to join our startup team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an in-house position, and is an opportunity to anyone who wants to join a local, successful startup-mode small business venture in Milwaukie, OR (right next to Portland). You must be able to commute weekdays to our office.

This position is not for the feint of heart or for those looking for another generic cubicle job. We are a small team bootstrapped for success.

As a mission-critical team member, your role will entail building front-end functionality in Vue.js with many opportunities to expand into React, node, and SQL- including web APIs, file and directory manipulation, using Linux, and communicating with databases as well as occasionally updating apps. This may often entail encoding and translating complicated business logic to code, and ensuring optimum scalability and stability.

You work may also require light graphics editing, working with fonts, forms, multiple browsers, using browser “dev” consoles, ensuring responsive design, and generally making projects accessible for users and other developers.

--Required Skills--

• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS & SASS.
• Knowledge of JavaScript tooling & frameworks (JQuery, express, NPM, etc.).
• Experience building complex Vue.js front-ends.
• Good understanding and practiced in vanilla JavaScript.
• Knowledge of OOP and Prototypal programming patterns.
• Understanding of asynchronous code (async/await, Promises), callbacks, variable scope, and other JavaScript concepts.
• Basic understanding of MVC and MVVM.
• Strong knowledge of web technology concepts (request, response, server, client, etc..).
• Familiarity with, or the ability to learn, KendoUI (www.telerik.com/kendo-ui) and other JS libraries.
• Experience using Visual Studio Code.
• Experience using source control systems like Git.
• Understanding of image and other file formats (e.g. PSD vs JPG vs PNG), compression (e.g. lossless vs lossy), minimization, etc.
• Ability to provide scope estimates, meet with clients, and able to work with minimal to no supervision.
• Able to visualize problems and conceptualize logical process flows - that is, visualize logical processes in your mind.

--Extras--

The following are not required, but are nice to have:

• Multi-language discipline in other languages is always great.

• Experience using Google apps (Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs/Sheets, etc.).
• Understanding of SQL, CRUD queries, Joins, etc.
• React.js or other front-end frameworks & libraries.
• Experience with Kendo.
• Ability to work on a Linux workstation and with Linux-based servers (we are a mixed-OS shop).

• Provable skills with the many or all of the above requirements.
• A genuine passion/interest in technology & development.
• A demonstrable talent in computer programming and technology concepts.

--Salary & Benefits--
Rate is commensurate on experience. Contract or part-time is offered hourly, while W2 is salary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
