About Data & Analytics at iCapital:
The Product & Technology department includes multiple teams dedicated to creating an industry-leading platform that manages the full lifecycle of alternative investments. We are looking for outstanding engineers who can help build the infrastructure to understand data and use it to inform strategic decisions. Data Engineers quickly grasp complex and fluid business problems and solve them with robust and creative analyses through building high performing and scalable infrastructure to warehouse the data.
As part of the Data & Analytics team, some areas of responsibility may include:
- Leveraging open-source technologies and cloud solutions to build elegant features that our clients will love.
- Developing and automating large scale, high-performing data platform infrastructure to drive iCapital’s business growth and enable data-driven organization.
- Streamlining the ingestion of raw data from various sources into our Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
- Designing data models for optimal storage and retrieval that represent the product entities and meet business requirements.
- Performing data cleansing and transformation, as well as create predictive and classification models.
- Creating data-driven insights for our shareholders using machine learning and statistical techniques.
The ideal candidate is...
- Comfortable with SQL and able to solicit user reporting requirements
- Familiar with open-source technologies or object-oriented functional programming
- Familiar with Python and JVM based languages such as Scala, Java, and Kotlin
- Familiar with at least 1 numeric research framework (Python/Pandas, R/Splus, Octave/Matlab)
- Familiar with AWS solutions (Lambda, S3, Kinesis, ElastiCache) and infrastructure-as-code (terraform or cloud formation)
- Familiar with OLAP (Redshitft, Snowflake) and OLTP (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) databases, and various database designs (Relational, Columnar, NoSQL)
- Highly inquisitive, collaborative, and a creative problem solver
- Possesses foundational knowledge of and/or genuine interest in the financial markets
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable to take on new responsibilities and be detail oriented
- Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- A rising junior or senior in a U.S. college/university bachelor’s degree program in computer science (or related major)
- Strong in verbal and written communication skills
- Authorized to work in the United States*
