Our work depends on an **Enterprise Data Lake (EDL)** **Technical Lead** joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an EDL Technical Lead supporting CMS, you will be trusted to oversee and manage the implementation of data management and EDL activities for the task order. In this role, a typical day will include:

+ Leading the creation of scalable data lake and reporting solutions which meet the business needs of the EDL consumers and contributors.

+ Supporting data migration, using data cataloging, and data protection tools and actively contribute towards data migration tasks.

+ Coordinating the activities of multiple developers, architects and analysts, to ensure the on-time delivery of each consumer and contributor.

+ Delivering the strategic EDL and warehouse resources, and data sets required, for enterprise-wide operational and predictive analytics.

+ Lead the design of data schemas and driving cloud data lake platform architectural decisions and development standards.

+ Providing oversight and expertise regarding data management, including data ingestion, storage, metadata, data quality and data lineage for an extensible federated virtual data lake.

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED:**

+ Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience

+ 7+ years of hands-on experience in data management, including data ingestion, storage, metadata, data quality and data lineage, preferably for a federated virtual data lake

+ Demonstrated experience in the development of extracts, transforms, and loads with a variety data sources including, AWS Cloud Computing, Spark, S3, DynamoDB, RDS and other modern cloud technologies and cloud warehouse databases

+ Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner and/or Certified Solution Architect Professional

+ Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to continue learning as technology and desired outcomes change.

+ In-depth understanding of Software/System Development Lifecycle methodologies and the ability to successfully deliver assignments.

+ Experience with architecture, design, and development of enterprise data lake and master data management.

+ Experience leading a team of at least five members, providing mentoring, guidance, and leadership.

+ Expert in database concepts, logical/physical design, development, and optimizing, and troubleshooting of high-volume databases (minimum of 2- 5 TB)

+ Strong understanding of data management, operational data store, and DW/BI concepts

+ Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

+ Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ US citizen or a Green Card holder

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to produce and maintain documentation to support activities

+ Experience with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

+ Experience in working with Mainframe environments, UNIX, Z/OS scripting

+ Experience with Erwin data modeling toolset
