This position serves as a member of a progressive and evolving team that supports the daily IT needs of a ever-expanding and diversifying organization currently encompassing all of Finance and Business, IT, VP of Research and Provost Offices. This position participates within this team to ensure the proper handling of all incidents and requests from creation to fulfillment/resolution and works to ensure proper documentation and process creation/update and training along the way. This position participates in managing departmental computer systems, mobile devices and peripherals in the business units listed as well as the varied and complex software needs for each business vertical within those units. This position consults with customers and users on requests and incidents running from basic to complex and multifaceted, performs research and offers appropriate solutions. This position coordinates and leads projects of moderate technical difficulty and develops and provides basic and intermediate user and/or IT Support training when needed. This position participates in a daily drive to evaluate the immediate and long-term needs of our customers and users so that they can most effectively and efficiently serve their customers.

Endpoint Management. This position participates with and provides input to the Endpoint Management team in regards to how Endpoints are designed, built, deployed as well as software deployment and updates. This position at times oversees the building and deployment of hardware as well as the onboarding of new individuals to that hardware. Endpoints are unique and require specific knowledge when configuring and deploying(e.g. POS devices vs. End to End Encryption devices vs. Printers vs. standard PC/LT needs). At times this position may lead the identification of software needed as well as the packaging and deployment of said software. This position also plays a role in ensuring that endpoints are kept up to date and that threat vectors are minimized. Participate in the proper disposal of IT inventory at the end of their life as defined by policies. Ensure asset inventory is updated in a timely manner and that appropriate spare units are ready for quick needs. Knowledge Management and Training. This position participates in the constant creation, augmentation and improvement of both IT-facing and User-facing knowledge and training. The training runs the gamut from OS to software specific and hardware specific needs. The knowledge exists in several formats including web-based, written and video. The training can take place as both one on one and group sessions as appropriate. The position plays a role in training new Tier 2 staff to ensure drops in service do not occur. This position also participates in relevant professional development opportunities to stay sharp current trends in IT and IT Service.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
