Studio Art Instructor

Kermes & T Art Academy is currently seeking to hire a long-term PT Studio Art Instructor to join our expanding teaching team. We are particularly interested in individuals who fully demonstrate their understanding of art education through customized training.

The potential candidate needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. We are looking for a team member who enjoys problem solving creatively and has the ability to teach drawing and painting in a variety of mediums. Photoshop or other computer design programs is preferred.

This is a long-term position. We desire the employee to stay with the job for at least one academic year.

The pay starts at $25- $30 hour and increases based on longevity in the position.

Qualifications:

• Legal status to work in the US. (We are currently unable to support OPT applicants)
• Must graduate with an art or design related degree: BA/BFA/MFA. MFA preferred.
• At least one year of teaching experience is required.
• Strong foundation skills in drawing/ painting.
• Strong commitment in teaching and ability to meet deadlines.
• Understand the fundamental and different approaches to drawing media techniques.

• Sufficient knowledge in Art History and a list of contemporary artists.
• Must be willing to work on Weekdays evening 3-7pm and Weekends.

• Bilingual in English/Mandarin is preferred.

• Must be tech-savvy, proficiency with Word, Photoshop or illustration.
• Strong writing, research and organizational skills.
