Job Summary

The Director of Finance will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting and driving the valuation of the Company.
As a critical member of Grow's leadership team, this person will interact and support various members of the team, most notably the CEO, COO and Chief Planning Officer, as well as director-level positions and more junior roles.
The Director of Finance will advise the CEO on the financial impacts of key decisions and monitor the outcome of previous decisions.
This person will work closely with the COO to evaluate and possibly implement improvements in an effort to drive down cost of goods sold for all products and help make the operation more cost-efficient.
The Director of Finance will also be responsible for monitoring construction/expansion budgets and cost allocations, license acquisition efforts and/or sale engagements.
They will be responsible for understanding the cannabis market, both at the state level and national level, in order to advise on company performance and financial strength.
This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a non-exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position:

  • Provide weekly reports on the financial health of the business, as well as market sustainability, to make recommendations for improvement to the Company's bottom line.
  • Track the cost of goods sold for all products, including direct and indirect costs, to establish accurate margins on all product lines and product line SKUs.
  • Work with third party accounting firm and tax firm on processing accounts payables, accounts receivables, monthly financial statements, and year-end tax documentation.
  • Collaborate with the COO to make a recommendation to the CEO regarding the implementation of automation that improves the bottom line without forfeiting production or yield outcomes.
  • Establish an annual and quarterly operating budget and track the Company's overall performance within the confines of the established operating budgets.
  • Meet monthly with director-level team members to review monthly spend in comparison to budget allocation.
  • Recommend cost reduction measures to hit the Company's established cost reduction goals.
  • Engage vendors and third-party service providers for better pricing and/or more favorable business terms as the Company achieves greater purchasing power and benefit from economies of scale.
  • Establish and monitor construction budgets and provide updates to the CEO and COO, as requested.
  • Provide leadership over fiscal team members and support the various divisions with fiscal-related items and the downstream impact on the overall operation.
  • Offer strategic recommendations regarding product pricing to the Director of Sales and the CEO for implementation.
  • Evaluate new technologies and techniques including cost analysis and financial impact, in collaboration with the COO, to make appropriate recommendations to the CEO.
  • Work with CEO to advise and assist on long-term business strategies and financial planning regarding expansion efforts, license acquisitions, or license divestitures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business, and equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience with a growing operation in a regulated cannabis program preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years in a financial role in the private sector or public sector with management experience.
  • Ability to manage a team, demonstrating leadership by actions and lead as an example for others.
  • Excellent data collection, results interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb understanding and ability to use Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated by accomplishment.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of programs and projects.
  • Advanced computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and in a continually changing environment.
  • At least 21 years of age.

This is a full time position with variable hours required.
Our facility is open from 6 am to 8 pm seven days a week.
You will have to complete a State/Federal background check, as well as a drug screening pre-employment.
