The Opportunity: Summary
The Business Analyst of Product is responsible for analyzing and defining business, product, and user requirements and applying critical thinking skills to help solve complex business problems related to Revenue Cycle operations for US based healthcare systems. Works closely with software, data science, product management, operational, and other cross-functional experts in an intellectually challenging and collaborative environment to translate business problems into product requirements and develop highly innovative solutions.
Ensemble Patient Access Business Analyst - Product Management
The Patient Access Business Analyst role reports to Ensemble Patient Access Product Management leadership and is responsible for defining requirements for and supporting the delivery of Ensemble Patient Access solutions.
This includes client & market research, solution assessment, requirements definition and technical specifications for Patient Access related solutions & features. The Patient Access Business Analyst will be responsible for helping create and maintain relevant Patient Access personas, business cases, variables and measures of success with focus on process efficiency and financial performance.
Essential Job Functions
4 year/ Bachelor's Degree or related work experience in Revenue Cycle Management
Preferred Education:
Specialty/Major: Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics or related field
Licensure/Certification Preferred:
HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA/CHAM
Pragmatic Marketing
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a business analysis or process improvement role
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of Patient Access functions and Hospital Revenue Cycle Management.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Microsoft Application experience
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Azure DevOps, X12, HL7, API, Database schema design, SQL knowledge, Experience working with healthcare revenue cycle management

The Patient Access Business Analyst role reports to Ensemble Patient Access Product Management leadership and is responsible for defining requirements for and supporting the delivery of Ensemble Patient Access solutions.
This includes client & market research, solution assessment, requirements definition and technical specifications for Patient Access related solutions & features. The Patient Access Business Analyst will be responsible for helping create and maintain relevant Patient Access personas, business cases, variables and measures of success with focus on process efficiency and financial performance.
Essential Job Functions
- Applies critical thinking skills to analyze complex business problems and define product requirements
- Applies analytical methods to study business process, data, and other information in support of product requirements definition and product delivery
- Analyzes processes within industry EMR systems as well as other workflow tools, and identifies and recommends process optimization and automation opportunities
- Understands and documents business process (current and desired state) through process diagrams, business architectural diagrams, and other communication mechanisms
- Responsible for gathering requirements and analyzing processes for Patient Access software solutions, accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and users to define, document, and explain requirements
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders clearly, timely and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
- Assists with QA tasks and responsibilities as appropriate
- Work requires the ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and the confidentiality of hospital and departmental documents.
