Job Description:

The Manager Marketing Pricing Strategy invests in the future of Southwest’s People by overseeing the International and Hawaii Market Pricing Team in the Revenue Management Department. They will also determine strategies needed to stay relevant in these markets and maintain a competitive edge through collaboration with Teams in Marketing, FP&A, Southwest Business and Network Planning. The Manager Market Pricing Strategy has an improvement mindset and seeks opportunities to optimize processes and maximize revenue. Â

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.Â
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required, and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.Â

- Guide and lead team members using SWA talent management practices to coach, develop, and engage employees

- Communicate analytical findings with different audience including Sr. Executives
- Coordinate across commercial partners to recommend strategy decisions to optimize revenue
- Provide feedback, coaching and mentoring technical, analytical and business acumen skills
- Interact with and extract data from relational database systems
- Run ad-hoc analysis at the request of Customers and Leaders
- Create tracking mechanisms and actively follows-up to gauge impact of actions
- Generate ad-hoc or standardized reports that summarizes the business
- Monitor multiple data sources and is responsible for maintaining data integrity
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
- Preferred:Â A background in pricing and/or managing international markets is beneficial in transitioning to this role but not required.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services including marketing strategy and tactics, and product demonstration
- Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
- Ability to tell or recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
Revenue Management, Pricing, or similar Analytical field
Pricing including theory, strategy and practice (Fare Basis Codes, ATPCO rules, etc.)
Familiar with Yield Management including theory, strategy and practice (customer demand, bid price controls, dual RBD, etc.)
One or more of: SQL, Tableau, Alteryx
Working with large and complex datasets
High level analytical problem solving
Large scale pricing and revenue management strategies and implementation to maximize revenue
Airline Reservation Systems and Global Distribution Systems
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
