McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the position of Director of Academic Advising and Student Success for a nationally recognized Great College to Work For. This is a 12-month, full-time position that includes the college’s generous benefit package. This position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Director of Academic Advising and Student Success leads a team in academic development and advising. A key responsibility is the development, implementation, and oversight of a new academic advising model. As a key member of the campus retention focus, this position is also responsible for a comprehensive program that promotes and enhances academic development for all students, including coordinating academic accommodations.

The Director of Academic Development supervises four professional advisors in addition to the Coordinators of the Writing Center, Student Success, and Athletic Academic Success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor and masters’ degrees required

Teaching and team-management experience preferred

Administrative experience in secondary or post-secondary institutions preferred

Basic work hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Additional evening and/or weekend hours are occasionally needed for first-year seminar activities or tutoring sessions.
