Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our team. As an OR RN at Surgi-Center of Central VA, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical setting with no weekends, no holidays, and no call required.
This is a full-time position that offers an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready.
- Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs and assisting the surgical team.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the surgeon.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, surgical techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
- Act as a patient advocate, providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Document patient information and procedures accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain infection control standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.

Required Skills :
- Current RN license in the state of VA.
- Recent experience in the operating room or perioperative nursing.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical situations.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety.
