Engineering Internship Summary:

The Engineering Intern will assist and support project implementation for our Metals & Plastics manufacturing & processing capabilities. Also supports ongoing continuous improvement projects for the Engineering department.

• Conducts experiments and tests to improve processes, material quality and reduce metal loss in our waste streams
• Designs new equipment or improvements to existing material handling equipment
• Assists with detailing drawings and works with fabrication shop to answer questions and document fabrication changes
• Order and track equipment parts and steel for various jobs. Examples include: high side trailers, lugger trucks & conveyors
• Assists Machinists with creating drawings of various machine components
• Organize Solidworks files
• Actively participates in Internship Program and associated events
  
  

Engineering Internship Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to measure and reverse engineer existing machine parts and /or wear parts
• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, etc.
• Ability to work with internal customers to solve their process challenges.
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD & SolidWorks programs
• Self-motivated; ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Problem solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated safety consciousness
