Supreme Living is a state-licensed Enhanced Services Facility offering residential mental health care for up to 15 residents at our Olympia location. Supreme Living provides comprehensive, cost-effective, and quality care to individuals requiring assistance in day-to-day living functions in home-like environments. We provide such services in a way that builds upon community support systems, coordinates services, and nurtures the development of each individual.
Our sole mission is to strengthen the long-term health of our community through the development of programs and services that promote quality living.
Individuals residing in a Supreme Living facility will receive the best possible care by our dedicated and loyal nursing, support service, and administrative staff. What You'll Do
The Cook is responsible for helping to plan and prepare nutritious meals to residents three times daily alongside our kitchen helper and our experienced kitchen manager. S/he is responsible for ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained. Expect steady work, regular hours, and no late nights.
. Requirements: Specific Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present well-balanced meals and beverages of the highest quality, incorporating cultural and dietary needs as required by the residents and staff.
Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus and maintain accurate stock control.
Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and adjacent dining area, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by environmental health agencies.
Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and in good working order.
Carry out proper food management, temperature control, and HACCP documentation according to current food hygiene regulations.
Participate in staff meetings and in staff training when applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; squat; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle.
Work Environment
Most of the employee’s job duties are performed indoors in a medical environment in a residential setting. In some circumstances, the employee may be required to perform some job duties outside, in medical settings, and in the presence of non-employees, such as patients, families, and state officials. There is a possibility of exposure to disease and contagions that could cause a cold, flu, COVID-19, and other illnesses. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Line and prep cooks, chefs, bakers, caterers, and anyone else who has professional kitchen experience is encouraged to apply.
Education and Experience
Previous cooking or catering experience within a commercial, institutional, or business setting.
Food Hygiene Certified, or willingness to become certified.
First Aid Certification, or willingness to become certified.
Knowledge of environmental safety and cleanliness standards.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License required, or the equivalent if you've lived in Washington for less than 30 days.
Language Skills
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Proficient in English.
Other
Must be able to provide three professional references.
Must be able to pass a State-mandated background check and be willing to comply with all State requirements for working in an Enhanced Services Facility, including providing proof of relevant vaccinations.
