Job Description
The Emerson MBA Leadership Program was established in 1976 to identify and recruit high-talent individuals seeking a career in general management in a dynamic technology and solutions focused environment. Each year we visit the leading business schools and hire high-potential MBA students who have the opportunity to work with and learn from top management and industry leaders. We offer paid summer internships in addition to full-time positions. Participation in the program puts individuals on a fast track to leadership within the company. In fact, more than 70% of MBAs hired in the past 5 years have remained at Emerson and been promoted into leadership roles.
Candidates are placed based on functional area of interest. Three to five years of practical work experience is important. Emerson believes the recruiting process requires the support of top management; as a result, these executives are involved in the recruiting and selection process.
Positions are located in major cities such as St. Louis, MO and Minneapolis, MN.

- Strategic Planner Intern
- Analyzes strategic positions of Emerson peers and competitors, identifies strategic partners and acquisitions, prepares strategy presentations for Emerson executives and the Emerson Board of Directors, and supports leadership in annual strategic planning conferences. Positions are at the corporate level, platform level, or within a business.
- Strategic Supply Chain Operations Analyst Intern
- The Strategic Operations Analysts will initiate and carry out a range of reoccurring and project-based assignments for Emerson leadership, including the Chief Operating Officer. Lead and contribute to Emerson strategic priorities to drive supply chain and operational modernization through digital transformation, Industrial IoT, etc. Support the strategic planning process through prioritization, communication, implementation and reporting of various initiatives to Emerson leadership
- IT Strategic Analyst Intern
- Defines and executes strategic programs to enhance critical business capabilities through information technology. Assignments span the disciplines of enterprise applications and analytics, global information technology infrastructure and communication services, digital customer engagement, information security, enterprise architecture strategy and governance, technology sourcing, and applied information technology research. Business engagements span all corporate functions. Positions are at Corporate or within a business.
- Human Resources
- Gain exposure to a variety of HR projects to learn about Emerson s philosophies and processes used to Support Our People and Culture Transformation Journey. Support the HR Centers of Excellence on a broad range of core HR services, including Talent, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Experience, Total Rewards, Data Analytics, and special projects as needed.
- Corporate Marketing Intern
- The Corporate Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting our Corporate Marketing department in the development of Emerson s marketing, branding, and public relations plans. In addition to our department, they will collaborate with our agency partners to move those plans forward. The Corporate Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to take on marketing projects based on their interests and apply what they ve learned in their business program with the goal of fulfilling our purpose.
