The Division of Medical Oncology at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Data Analyst 2. The Data Analyst 2 cleans and analyzes data from various databases, develops scheduling and utilization reports, and completes analyses of the data, as needed by research leadership in the Structural Inequities and Transdisciplinary Health (SITH) Lab. The SITH Lab conducts various health disparities projects focused on cancer risk, HIV, aging, and mental health. The Data Analyst also creates relevant reporting tools, such as dashboards, descriptive statistics, and analytic reports, to make inferences about data figures and complete statistical calculations. An employee in this position leads projects and serves as a liaison to various internal units, teams, committees, and external vendors.

  • Develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

  • Develops statistical reports based on dynamic research questions utilizing statistical software.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains a dashboard of key analytic information.

  • Develops procedures for appropriate input and analysis for the databases by analyzing variables and optimizing data use.

  • Identifies data sources for new data needed for analyses.

  • Cleans and transforms new data to be utilized in research.

  • Performs a variety of data analytics to support the needs, goals, and objectives of the relevant research projects.

  • Formulates term-specific, ad hoc, and trending reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, Master's Degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
