Design Engineer I

About This PositionJOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/ObjectiveThe Design Engineer I position develops and improves products or designs through a process of conceptualizing, developing prototypes, testing, and implementation to manufacturing to customer specifications. Work may include creation of previously non-existent products or modification of existing products, including line extensions. This position works closely with more senior engineers to use established procedures to complete tasks with detailed instruction.Essential Functions1. Designs product to meet all requirements2. Manages multiple projects at one time3. Produces drawings, assists in prototyping, manufacturing, quality, and planning as required.4. ThoroughnessRequired Education and Experience1. B.S. degree in Engineering or Design2. Strong mechanical design aptitude3. Strong literacy with Microsoft Office Suite4. Interpersonal and mechanical aptitude necessary to deal effectively with a variety of departmentsPreferred Education and Experience1. Pro/E modeling and detailing experience2. Familiar with current GD&T standards

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
