- OverviewLG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.

- Our facility in Holland Mi is continually growing so we are seeking many Production engineers to work in our battery plant and we are growing as a company around North America.
- Process InformationFormation is the final step of the cell manufacturing process where the SEI layer is formed in the cell through an electrochemical reaction, gas is removed through a degassing process, and the cell is made into its final dimensions at End of Line. To support this process there are many highly automated machines that can impact the cell to go through the process.
- Job SummaryWe are seeking a Production Engineer to work at our state of the art Lithium-ion battery plant in Holland, Mi that is continually growing.
- This position will be responsible for work that includes continuous improvement, investigating and troubleshooting equipment/manufacturing/facility problems, analyzing production results, implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes, and ensuring high yield and productivity in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- His/her functions will also include interaction with internal and external customers and external vendors to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support of all in-plant production as required.
- Position may require some on-call support.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related), or similar (Math, Physics, Statistics, etc).
- 0-5+ years of experience in continuous improvement or manufacturing in a highly automated and/or automotive engineering environment
- Experience with robotic manufacturing equipment or Automation is a plus, but not required
- Experience with or knowledge of large production lines, PFMEAs, and process controls helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, Bottleneck Analysis helpful
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
- Critical thinking and an analytical mindset.
- Data analysis experience is helpful
- Able to work flexible hours occasionally to support entire production team
