Position Summary


The Director of People Operations helps align business objectives with employees and management in a designated business unit by directing culture, developing policy, and planning strategic People Ops initiatives. The Director of People Operations must have a complete understanding of and hands-on exposure to all People Operations functions.


Required Qualifications:

  •  BA/BS Degree in human resources or related business field; Graduate degree preferred
  •  Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in real estate or property management, People Operations, or related fields
  •  Proven track record of developing and implementing innovative people operations and organizational processes

Essential Job Functions:

  •  Consults with clients on all personnel action (disciplinary actions and terminations)
  •  Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the People Operations group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  •  Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  •  Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  •  Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to the client (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  •  Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  •  Provides People Operations policy guidance and interpretation.
  •  Manage People Operations’ policies and procedures consistent with company objectives and state and federal laws.
  •  Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce, and succession planning.
  •  Identifies training needs for the client and individual executive coaching.
  •  Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  •  Conducts reoccurring meetings with client.
