Albion College invites applications for the TRIO Student Support Services Program Director position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program Director is responsible to lead, direct, manage and ensure the effectiveness of the College’s TRIO Student Support Services Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The TRIO SSS Program provides academic programming, personal proactive advising, and related services for eligible students towards program objectives of student retention, good academic standing, and on-time graduation. The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including selecting student participants, hiring and overseeing Program staff, providing direct services and a variety of program activities to participants, evaluating the Program, maintaining records and data, and reporting to the Department of Education. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Albion College is an anti-racist institution. Position Duration: 12 months per year; grant position funded through August 31, 2025 with possibility of renewal
Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, college student services administration, education administration, college student personnel/guidance, social work, education, or a related field required;
Three or more years of experience in a higher education or educational setting in a role that is related to the duties and responsibilities of this position, such as student services or academic support is required;
Previous experience working with students with documented disabilities, students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, and first generation college students is required;
Prior work experience in a TRIO SSS or similar program is required;
Budget management experience required; prior experience with state and/or federal grant management preferred;
Additionally, experience developing and implementing academic support services, supervisory experience, and personal or professional experience in a TRIO program is preferred.
