JOB SUMMARY

In close collaboration with the CEO and ELT, the CMO leads the consumer and brand-driven business growth. They are the custodian of our brands and the leader of our commercial growth strategy. They are a change agent that inspires FUSA to seek transformational growth.


The CMO develops a modern, capable marketing team, where the culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement thrives. The CMO drives the attitude of cross-functional collaboration and leads by example.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Champion customer-centric, transformational growth mindset through purpose-driven brands across the organization, leading cross-functional collaboration, culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

  • Lead identification of insight-driven growth opportunities, disciplined development, and agile implementation of portfolio strategy and plans to achieve company growth ambition

  • Drive digital marketing and master data-driven decision-making capability at individual and team levels. Champions these capabilities across the whole company

  • Champion consumer-facing and insight-driven marketing approach that supports shopper-driven trade marketing and customer-focused sales

  • Ensure that FUSA possesses relevant consumer and competitor insights as well as that it understands current market and consumer trends

  • Collaborate with the ELT to develop and implement FUSA growth strategy and plans

  • Works directly with corporate CMO office to define long term strategy: corporate brand positioning, innovation, corporate processes, and development of business capabilities

  • Own the commercial planning process from segmentation through opportunity identification, portfolio strategy, brand strategies, and integrated activity plans to perform analysis and course correction

  • Be the custodian of our brands, ensuring their insights-based positionings and purposes and brought to life with fresh consistency

  • Oversee the innovation from opportunity-based innovation pipeline, through sustain/expand/change plan execution, to post-evaluation

  • Own the performance of our brands, ensuring that they deliver against FUSA commercial and financial targets, as well as grow in equity

  • Drive the development of marketing skills and competencies across the team, identifying priority areas that support our growth ambition and strategy

  • Nurture the talent pipeline in marketing and promote cross-functional career development

  • Lead the development of the digital marketing capabilities across the marketing team, putting in place a comprehensive plan defining the immediate and ongoing acquisition and enhancement of these capabilities

  • Foster the use of a wide range of master data to make brand and commercial short-, mid-, and long-term decisions. Leads the use of appropriate data sources, tools, and analytics methodologies to ensure data relevance and decision reliability

  • In collaboration with IT, lead the development of digital and martech

  • Drive continuous improvement through post-evaluation, agile course-correction, and intentional experimentation

  • Lead-by-example collaboration with other functions, particularly with sales

  • Actively work with the ELT to direct and manage FUSA, through goal setting, planning, evaluation, policy definition, etc.

  • Lead the development of the digital marketing capability and master data-driven decision making

  • Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment


EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS required, with Business, Marketing, or related disciplines preferred

  • Preferred Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

  • 15+ years of professional experience in marketing, trade marketing, innovation, sales, insights, or strategy planning roles

  • 7+ years of managerial experience with responsibility for a group of brands and for a team of 10+ employees

  • CPG experience required; beverage experience preferred

  • Must operate from EST or CST time zones and be able to travel to Buffalo or Rochester by car/plane/train in the morning, returning in the evening
