Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has a full-time Architectural Staff- Healthcare opportunity at our Los Angeles, CA office. Our office is seeking a job captain level architectural intern with our Los Angeles office Healthcare Studio. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and the appropriate architectural skills to produce detailed and well-documented Construction Documents using Revit. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field. This position will work to support Architects, Project Managers or Designers in preparing design and construction drawings and assists in construction administration for healthcare projects. This role is great for a candidate who would like to join an award-winning firm and work collaboratively with a fantastic team of architects.

Responsibilities:



  • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development

  • Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment

  • Prepares various documents during the course of project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.

  • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings

  • Collaborate with team leaders through all phases of design process, from design concept inception through completion of construction documents.

  • Research materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor

  • Learn and apply a variety of code requirements and standards as they develop expertise

  • Integrate information form consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation

  • Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review

  • May be required to attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assists with general project correspondence.

  • Assists or prepare graphic materials for presentations or documents

  • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of architectural design experience in institutional projects, healthcare preferred

  • Registration: Must be engaged in AXP and be actively pursuing licensure.

  • Technical capacity to research and applies building codes

  • Revit Architecture 2018-2022 (3-years of project experience min.)

  • Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models or other documents accordingly

  • Strong interest in healthcare design and implementation of small projects

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat

  • Newforma, Vision, Navisworks, Revit, ACA, and/or Vectorworks

  • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods and techniques

  • Knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and standard operations

  • Knowledge of standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm within the A/E industry

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to prepare architectural documents and specifications for projects

  • Ability to read redlines and modify BIM models or drawings accordingly

  • Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas

  • Ability to present in a meeting and work in a team environment

  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks
