We are hiring a Systems Engineering [SATCOM] - Section Manager at our Marlborough, MA site, for our Protected Communications System (PCS) product lines.
Section Manager will be a member of an Integrated Program Team (IPT) supporting a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) environment to develop system requirements. Deliverables include:
Key technical contributor to the programs supported by the section and in addition, perform direct line management activities for approximately 10-15 engineers
Ensure effective implementation of discipline's performance on programs supported by the resources within the section. This may include ensuring meeting technical requirements and cost and schedule constraints; encouraging effective collaboration with other engineering disciplines across the organization; growing and developing talent and capabilities of employees within the section.
Have domain knowledge in SATCOM products, Modeling and Simulation, Product Development and Demonstration.
Leading, directing and reviewing the work of the team while respecting the team’s members ability to exercise latitude and independence.
Managing staffing, hiring, promotion and rewards within the team.
Providing technical input to new products, processes and standards and ensuring that new approaches are implemented by the team.
Communicating with external customers or vendors.
Work with other disciplines in the creation of proposals by supplying software cost estimations and technical input.
Required Skills:
Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of projects, including work scheduling, staffing, earn-value management, cost estimation, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
Must have a minimum of 10 years of System Engineering and related experience with demonstrated people management and program management experience.
Must be proficient in the definition of System requirements and generation of quality performance specifications.
Must be proficient in the generation IV&V test specifications.
Understanding of the program technical baseline to ensure the product meets contractual needs.
Knowledge of System Modeling Language (SysML) and Model Based SE (MBSE) fundamentals. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation} and ability to effectively communicate with leadership.
Experience in proposal preparation, cost and schedule estimation and technical documentation related to contract deliverable items.
U.S. Citizenship status and CURRENT SECRET Clearance is required
Desired Skills:
Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other System engineers.
Experience using one or more of the following common MBSE tools: DOORs Next Gen, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation} and ability to effectively communicate with leadership.
Skilled in proposal preparation, cost and schedule estimation and technical documentation related to contract deliverable items.
Preparation of engineering inputs to gates and independent reviews.
Preparation of Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree preferably in STEM from an accredited educational institution.
