Our client, an agricultural multinational corporation, is seeking an HR Generalist

Location: Charlotte, NC
Position Type: Full Time

Job Summary:

This position supports, conducts and coordinates the development and administration of human resources functions throughout the organization, including workforce planning and continuous staff development, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, and legal compliance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership advice and counsel to the management team in the areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation, recruitment and organizational planning.
  • Supports HR vendor relationships such as insurance brokers, HRIS/HCM provider, FSA administrator, staffing agencies, professional organizations, and any other vendor.
  • Supports performance evaluation process including updates to the tools and process, monitoring and addressing manager quality, assigning monthly evaluations, monitoring progress and merit increase recommendations. 
  • Supports employee engagement strategies, including recognition and motivation programs.
  • Supports best practice human resource policies and procedures and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures throughout the practice.  Updates Employee Handbook as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance under all applicable state and federal laws and case decisions to support compliance and minimize the Company’s exposure to liability.
  • Conducts all staff presentations for benefits open enrollment and policy additions and changes.
  • Counsels mangers on employee relations issues, conducts investigations where required and recommends resolutions.
  • Fully investigates proposed involuntary terminations for appropriateness in regard to the employee, employee’s actions in relative to policy compliance, manager’s compliance with coaching disciplinary action policies and potential liability to the organization. 
  • Ensures all terminations are processed fully including inactivation to all systems and receipt of all benefit information in advance and receipt of COBRA.
  • Manages HRIS administration including data integrity, creating and analyzing reports and tracking statistics.
  • Serves as an unbiased alternative resource to the immediate manager to interpret Human Resources policies and related questions.
  • Reviews all unemployment and workers’ compensation claims and represents the company at unemployment and workers’ compensation hearings.
  • Executes bi-weekly payroll
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and other educational opportunities; reading professional publications; growing personal networks; participating in professional organizations and in general, staying on top of industry trends.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Management, Business or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive generalist experience.
  • Solid understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Excellent presentation, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, must develop strong partnerships with various HR and Payroll related vendors. 
  • Special projects and reporting updates
  • Bilingual Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
  • Onsite Site work
  • MS Office Proficient and computer savvy
