The Position



The Business Analyst I collects, reviews, and accepts business requirements, builds functionality requirements, and build business process workflows as part of a multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with the Project Management Organization (PMO). The position is responsible for conducting business and functionality impact analysis on current state and future state architecture and business processes. Helps support and possibly champions new business processes, projects, and integrations of newly approved business systems that will be implemented to support the entire organization. This includes identifying newly required processes and methodologies, gathering requirements needed to support systems and business units, prioritizing work efforts and tasks, tracking progress, schedules and budgets, performing and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and working on final implementation, turn-up, and training for successful completion.



Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Facilitates cross functional business teams to define business processes and requirements.

  • Performs gap analysis based on standard industry frameworks across departments within Lumos.

  • Gathers and identifies functional requirements and works with Business Transformation to ensure the integrity of requirements, including full requirements traceability.

  • Drives progress on open requirements action items all the way through until sign-off.

  • Maps processes using Nintex, Visio, or similar process modelling tools.

  • Collaborates with Business Units, BA and CM teams, IT development and systems analysts to ensure requirements are met and implemented through successful completion.

  • Defines KPI measurement & monitoring framework for new processes and methodologies.

  • Recommends solutions for process improvement at both company and operational levels.

  • Understands different data structures and databases; drives data measurement and analysis to deliver Service Level Agreement (SLA) and KPI performance reports.

  • Creates test case studies of key deliverables to ensure requirements and functionality are met in the production environment

  • Supports setup and holds workshops with company and technology stakeholders to receive inputs, provide status updates, and obtain successful project sign-off.

  • Helps develop clear understanding of assigned BA initiatives including measurable KPIs to evaluate improvement or success.

  • Helps to define the problem and/or objective within the context and scope of assigned BA initiatives.

  • Supports the development of a thorough BA process in support of all current and future Business Process, including but not limited to: identifying requirements, resources, systems, approach, tools, and techniques to be used during the initiative by multiple internal teams. This will then be reviewed and approved during the kick off initiative process to ensure overall success of the effort.

  • Coordinates and documents new process projects within Nintex; captures and documents all requirements, requests, Action items, UAT data, and results as needed including storing and documenting data for public viewing, i.e. SharePoint.

  • Serves as POC for all assigned Business Process Projects.

  • Provides Business Requirements to IT and drives project solutions.

  • Reports status of current projects to Manager, Business Analysis and team until completion.


Qualifications



Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.



Experience:


  • 1-3 years’ experience in process design.

  • Telecommunications or broadband industry experience a plus.

  • Direct experience preparing functional requirements derived from business requirements inputs. Experienced building process workflows using tools such as Nintex, Visio, and Excel.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.

  • Solid relationship-building skills, comfort with change management, and ability to work independently and maintain pace with business requirement timelines.
