About This Position

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the effective operations of the Restaurant, Lounge, Patio-Café, and Room Service. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will find themselves in a variety of situations during any given time period and must be flexible and able to multi-task. This position requires consistency, integrity and a commitment to the overall wellbeing of the operation and the team. Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Balance administrative tasks with an on-the-floor approach to management
  • Manage PM Restaurant Employees to include training, performance reviews and disciplinary measures
  • Act as Floor Manager for scheduled shifts: personalize the guest experience and perform guest recovery when necessary; manage floor staff and ensure the completion of all job duties/side-work
  • Point of contact for Alderbrook staff and guest with regard to restaurant charge errors or disputes in absence of the Restaurant & Lounge Manager
  • Monitors/adjusts staffing levels for scheduled shifts
  • Provide help as needed on Restaurant floor, including but not limited to: expediting, running food, bussing tables, seating guests, greeting guests, providing drinks, etc.
  • Manage Reservations program for the Restaurant, including but not limited to: private dining and special events reservations
  • Training and development of Restaurant staff. Coach and develop fine dining service skills in all Restaurant staff, correct when


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage PM Restaurant service staff
  • Supervise all staff during
  • Participate in the hiring process
  • Train Restaurant/Lounge employees as requested
  • Advise Restaurant & Lounge Manager with regard to counsel and discipline of departmental employees; participate in or execute counseling/discipline of departmental employees
  • Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of performance reviews
  • Ensure all interactions with and between coworkers are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner
  • Ensure a safe working environment in areas of responsibility

Requirements


Qualifications

  • 2 years prior restaurant management experience, required
  • Minimum two-year degree or certificate in business management, food service or humanities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook), required
  • Progressive supervising experience
  • Must have open availability
  • Strong admin skills
  • Experience with ordering, payroll, reservation management, database management and spread sheets
