Duties and Responsibilities
Administer the extramural funded project, including but not limited to the Behavioral Health Workforce Education & Training for Paraprofessionals project
Oversee and coordinate a range of the project activities, including developing and updating program forms and manuals
Develop and responsible for database management including data collection, analysis, and dissemination
Plan and coordinate the recruitment and selection of students
Recruit and maintain community partners including, but not limited to, coordinating and reviewing of agreements related to apprenticeship employment sites
Prepare and write federal and other reports
Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including SUD prevention, treatment, and recovery agency personnel in the coordination of project activities including, but not limited to, via project website, newsletter, social media, and listserv management
Develop and maintain project website
Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Social Work or related field and (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for program coordination; or equivalent education/training or experience
Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the field of program coordination as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with program coordination.
Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or related field from an accredited college or university
Familiarity with the University of Hawaii's course management and collaborative resources tool, Laulima
Familiarity with video-conferencing applications such as Zoom, Skype, and WebEx
Knowledge and experience working with the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention, Treatment, Recovery Community in Hawai‘i
Experience supervising graduate and undergraduate students
Experience working with diverse communities in Hawai‘i
Experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
Experience coordinating federal or state funded programs
