The Drupal Developer will manage, maintain, and upgrade existing Drupal projects, build new functionality, integrate third party platforms, and continue the implementation of a modern development and code management practice at ACC. The ideal candidate will have in-house or consulting experience developing customer facing enterprise Drupal solutions.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Leads the maintenance and updates for customer facing enterprise Drupal properties

  • Writes and updates Drupal 9 modules and themes as required

  • Works with the lead architect to create and maintain site repositories

  • Models good software craftsmanship, including automated testing and refactoring, for other developers and consulting teams

  • Leads in-house response and resolution to Drupal support tickets submitted by staff and members

  • Proactively tests and troubleshoots both member-facing and internal bugs

  • Develops technical literature and training materials

  • Assists the Web Strategy Manager, Development Operations to provide staff training

  • Provide support and technical guidance to consultants and staff

  • Provide the expertise required to review, advise, and assist in the selection of appropriate functionalities for websites

  • Assists Web and IT team members and consultants on API and SSO architectures and implementations.



EDUCATION


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related concentration is preferred



WORK EXPERIENCE


  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in developing enterprise websites, web applications and/or mobile applications

  • 3 years of experience with Drupal preferred, including custom module development for Drupal 8-9; this is not a site builder role

  • Drupal.org module maintenance or other contributions highly preferred

  • A can-do or a can-find-out attitude is a requirement for this role

  • A passion for developing customer focused applications and working with modern development architecture

  • Demonstrated expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience with Drupal 8-9 theme development

  • Experience with responsive theming, mobile testing, and mobile-first development approaches.

  • Experience with Composer-built Drupal applications

  • Well-tested code authorship, including evidence of effective refactoring

  • Strong working knowledge/experience with Git or another VCS

  • Ability to work independently and provide excellent follow-through on tasks

  • High-degree of initiative and self-direction; must be detail-oriented and proactive

  • Ability to handle projects solo, but thoroughly enjoy collaborating with partner or a team

  • Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects

  • Desire to grow skillset

  • Exposure to modern DevOps practices is a plus

  • Experience with single-sign-on (SS0) approaches and best practices is a plus



LANGUAGES


ACC seeks to hire multi-lingual candidates. Fluency in English and a second language is preferred.
