Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager plays an important role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects. Working as part of the project team and under the guidance of a Project Manager, this position helps coordinate project activities, support subcontractor and vendor communication, track project costs and schedules, maintain documentation, and assist with project closeout.
This role is ideal for someone with some construction project experience who wants to continue building their skills in project management while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Review construction documents, drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes to understand project requirements and support project planning.
• Lead and facilitate subcontractor coordination meetings to review project progress, schedule, safety, and field issues.
• Coordinate project communication with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, owners, and internal team members.
• Support schedule updates, project milestones, and follow-up on open items in coordination with site supervision and the Project Manager.
• Help manage submittals, shop drawings tracking, Requests for Information (RFIs), meeting minutes, and action items.
• Review and help manage contracts, change orders, pay applications, vendor invoices, and other project cost documentation.
• Assist with procurement planning, material tracking, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.
• Support project budget tracking, monthly payment applications, and issue resolution using company systems and cost tools.
• Assist with project closeout activities, including commissioning coordination, owner training coordination, punch list follow-up, and close-out documentation.
• Conduct job site visits and support quality and safety reviews in coordination with field leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Some experience in commercial construction or project coordination.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment, and taking ownership of deadlines and follow-ups.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to build strong working relationships.
• Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, project documentation, and cost tracking preferred.
