Position Details

Location: Edmond, OK (onsite)
Schedule:
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing

This role plays a key part in helping patients successfully access their prescribed medications.

Daily responsibilities may include:
• Verifying pharmacy insurance benefits and eligibility
• Submitting and tracking prior authorizations for medications
• Following up with insurance companies and PBMs regarding authorization status
• Communicating authorization approvals, denials, or next steps with patients
• Assisting patients with copay assistance programs and financial support options
• Troubleshooting insurance claim issues or pharmacy rejections
• Researching payer guidelines, formularies, and medication coverage policies
• Ensuring medications approved through authorization are successfully processed by pharmacies
• Resolving assigned tasks and documentation within the Electronic Health Record system
• Collaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure a smooth medication access process

What We’re Looking ForPreferred Experience
• 1–2 years of experience in prior authorizations, pharmacy billing, medical billing, or insurance verification
• Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial pharmacy benefit plans
• Familiarity with pharmacy claim rejections and medication authorization workflows
• Understanding of formularies, step therapy, and medication coverage requirements

Technical Skills
• Experience using CoverMyMeds or similar prior authorization platforms preferred
• Experience working in EHR systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Additional Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Pharmacy technician experience or certification is helpful but not required
• Strong communication and patient service skills
• Ability to type approximately 50 WPM

Work Environment
• Fast-paced healthcare setting
• Frequent computer and data entry work
• Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing documentation and insurance information
• Occasional standing, walking, or bending throughout the workday
