• Valid Class C driver?s license
• Satisfactory driving record
• Pass annual DOT physical examination
• Successfully complete a 20-hour Texas School Bus Certification Course
• Ability to speak and understand English, as well as read, write and comprehend instructions
• Ability to hear and respond verbally to various acts of disruption and/or safety and behavior concerns

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle each run
• Keep interior and exterior of vehicle clean
• Record vehicle condition and mileage in the Driver Vehicle Condition Report (DVCR) book and turn it in to the garage weekly.
• Drive vehicle in a safe and efficient manner- observe all traffic laws
• Complete and sign student safety and discipline form as needed
• Report any corrections and/or make suggestions needed on route sheets and return to router
• All other duties as assigned by Foreman/Specialist/Manager and/or Director
• Maintain daily attendance sheet. Turn into office staff weekly
• Maintain current knowledge of car/booster seat regulations and be prepared for students that need either
• Maintain up-to-date copy of route in vehicle and office with detailed information as to:
• Lot Leave time, students picked up, pick up campus/school related event location, and drop off campus/school related event location

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum required age of 21 years old
  • Valid Class C driver?s license
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Pass annual DOT physical examination

  • Responsible for the operations of assigned suburban or activity bus in a safe and proper manner, obeying all state and local laws as well as, safety policies and route schedules of AISD
  • Transport students from AISD campus to AISD campus or other school related event
