JOB TITLE: Certified Peer Support Specialist-Call Center

SCHEDULE: Monday Friday, Full Time

LOCATION: Onsite/New Hanover and Brunswick Counties

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a NCCPSS (NC Certified Peer Support Specialist
• At least 18 months of lived experience in recovery from a significant mental illness and/or substance use disorder and lived experience with involvement in the justice system
• A high school diploma or equivalent

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: The Peer Support Specialist provides recovery based supportive services for Coastal Horizons clients to assist them in pursuing and achieving health, wellness, & recovery goals. The Forensic Peer Support Specialist will provide support to individuals seeking treatment via a Call Center to streamline individuals into treatment, provide resources, streamline to justice services programming, and engage at the onset of treatment services. Must be able to exemplify strong communication skills when answering incoming calls.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Promotes engagement in therapy with clinicians, engagement with psychiatric appointments, involvement and engagement with wellness services and recovery support, and engagement with justice services programming. Completes all tracking and reporting requirements for outcomes and evaluation, and documents services and calls provided. Assists clients in a variety of ways call support, sharing of personal recovery story, resource acquisition, coordination of care.
