Position Overview
We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator for a temporary position covering a maternity leave. This role is essential to maintaining a smooth front office flow and delivering an exceptional patient experience during the coverage period.
The Patient Care Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for patients, helping them understand treatment recommendations, insurance benefits, and financial options while ensuring each patient feels informed, supported, and cared for.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Communication
• Greet patients and provide a warm, professional experience from check-in to check-out
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries promptly
• Communicate clearly and empathetically regarding treatment plans and next steps
• Ensure patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Treatment Coordination & Financials
• Present treatment plans and review insurance benefits with patients
• Explain financial policies, payment options, and assist with financing as needed
• Collect payments and process transactions accurately
• Coordinate follow-up and continuing care appointments
Administrative & Operational Support
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management system
• Assist with schedule management to support efficiency and patient flow
• Support front desk and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year of dental front office or Patient Care Coordinator experience required
• Experience with insurance verification and treatment coordination
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, positive, and patient-focused attitude

• Comfortable discussing financial information with patients
• Reliable, dependable, and collaborative team player
• Ability to step into an established workflow with confidence
