EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
• High school graduate and five years of related clerical experience
• Work experience in school or human resources or student services settings preferred

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

SALARY: Salary Grade 59, Office Support III

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and walking.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
• Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
• The ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills in English.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform daily clerical and administrative tasks to support the efficient and professional operation of the Human Resources and Student Services office.
• Handle sensitive student and personnel information with discretion and maintain confidentiality in accordance with district and legal standards.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and logistics for HR/SS department events, district trainings, and professional development sessions.
• Support school and district personnel with the use of key HR systems, such as Recruiting and Hiring, Absence Management, the Human Resources Management System (HRMS), and Safe Schools.
• Work collaboratively with other HR/SS team members to facilitate necessary processes including employee background checks, drug and alcohol testing, employment onboarding, and employment verifications.
• Assist in coordinating McKinney-Vento services, including arranging transportation and maintaining required documentation in partnership with the Transportation Department.
• Receive and relay messages to Student Services team members; ensure timely and accurate communication, especially during high-priority situations.
• Administer fingerprinting services for employees and volunteers and create employee identification badges in accordance with district practice.
• Support the collection, organization, and preparation of documentation for state, federal, and grant compliance audits related to HR and Student Services.
• Maintain accurate and organized records for all HR documents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Enter and maintain accurate student services data (e.g., homelessness, attendance interventions, mental health referrals) as needed for reporting and compliance purposes.
• Support communication efforts with families and school staff regarding student services programs, including coordinating appointments or relaying key information.
• Serve as a backup receptionist at the district office, greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing front-line customer service as needed.
• Provide official Notary Public services for district-related documentation as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor in support of HR and Student Services operations.
