The Personal Lines Support Technician works closely with the rest of the Personal Lines staff to deliver high quality and efficient service to both internal and external customers while adhering to the highest ethical standards, promoting the image of the Agency and providing superior levels of customer satisfaction that drive long-term relationships, referral business and the attainment of profit goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Obtain and verify information from car dealers and/or the insured with regard to vehicle changes to an existing policy. Fax or email the appropriate documents, including FS20s, Binders, and/or Certificates of Insurance to the car dealer or insured as requested.

· Track & document all Personal Lines non-pay cancellations and reinstatements in AMS360.

· Verify final cancellations and enter a “reminder” suspense to move the policy to an inactive status. If no more active policies inactivate the entire account.

· Process change requests on-line or in AMS360 providing necessary documentation to the insured and/or another party as requested.

· Create a suspense in AMS360 to ensure the receipt of the endorsement. Once received verify the endorsement was done accurately. If not, submit another change request to the insurance company to correct the inaccurate endorsement.

· Meet and greet customers who come into the office

· Enter payments brought to the Agency by the insured into AMS360. Mail out corresponding checks received from the Accounting Department to the appropriate insurance company.

· Maintain clear and accurate insurance coverage detail and account activity

· Respond to all correspondence and phone calls in a timely manner,

§ preferably the same day.

· Participate in meetings, training sessions and seminars and may assist with training of co-workers as needed.

· Must comply with all Agency procedures and guidelines, and perform any other related duties required by management.

Qualifications and Skills Required

· Licensed in P & C or willing to obtain license

· Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Warm, friendly personality with the ability to connect with people and work well in a team environment

· Experience with PC software applications - Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet and agency management systems -AMS360, TAM and EPIC preferred.

· Associates degree or higher preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

  • Applicants must be organized, possess excellent communication and computer skills, be a team player and have a positive attitude
  • Prior Property and Casualty Insurance experience
  • Possess a New York Property and Casualty Broker license or be willing to obtain one
  • Licensed in P & C or willing to obtain license
