seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Accounting Specialist to support the daily financial operations of our growing construction company. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate accounts payable processing, job cost tracking, and general bookkeeping functions that support both project teams and leadership. Key Responsibilities
• Process, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
• Prepare weekly and monthly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate job cost records and assist with project cost reporting
• Support monthly close activities, including accruals, AP aging, and job cost reviews
• Assist the CFO and accounting team with general ledger entries and special projects
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor documentation
• Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
• Perform general bookkeeping and administrative accounting tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• 2+ years of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with job costing, lien releases, and subcontractor workflows preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with accounting software
• Foundation construction accounting software strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)
