Position Overview:

As a Direct Care Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting youth within a group care environment. Your main responsibilities include assisting residents with daily routines, fostering therapeutic interactions, and helping to create and maintain a stable, supportive, and home-like atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct, hands-on support to residents through active engagement, coaching, and modeling of positive behaviors.
• Assist residents with daily living tasks, including recreation, personal hygiene, health routines, and schoolwork or homework.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to use everyday activities as therapeutic opportunities that promote structure, stability, and a sense of belonging.
• Monitor and address residents’ physical and emotional well-being, including medication administration and consistent behavioral oversight.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility, ensuring proper documentation, upkeep of resident charts, and maintenance of the staff office.
• Provide transportation for residents to appointments, school, or family visits as needed.
• Ensure continuous supervision of residents during all activities, transitions, and daily routines.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and other team discussions as required.

Supervision and Training:
• This position is supervised and evaluated by the Program Director and/or Residential Manager. Employees will receive comprehensive training, along with opportunities for professional growth, skill development, and performance-based incentives.

Schedule & Availability:
• Applicants must be available to work all shifts, including day, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Full-time employees may work up to 40 hours per week.
• Part-time employees may work up to 24 hours per week.

Our residential programs operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which includes rotating weekends and holidays.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Help manage the milieu to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Provide direct personal support to residents through coaching, role modeling, and active engagement.
• Facilitate structured life-skills activities and lead interactive group discussions.
• Complete required documentation and paperwork, including points, observations, and reports.
• Participate in team meetings as required.
• Communicate and document critical information and incidents accurately and promptly.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all youth-related information.
• Interact positively and supportively with youth, community members, and referral sources.
• Assist with chart audits and organize documentation in chart binders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. - Insurable on agency vehicles. (Must have a clean driving record for 5 years).
• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred in social services or related field.
• Minimum of one-year experience working with at-risk kids or in a position in the social services field.
• Fingerprint based National & State Criminal History Check
• Child Protective Services Check
• National Sex Offender Registry Check
• Local Criminal Court Records Check
• Computer Literacy
• TB Test
