Civil Engineering Project Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced civil engineer to oversee complex public works projects and plan check services for public works services and facilities, as well as private development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles and practices, including planning and development, design and construction.

Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
• Designing, preparing, and approving specifications, engineering drawings and contracts for various public works projects
• Developing cost estimates, coordinating contractor bidding and selection processes, evaluating proposals and recommending awarding of contracts
• Serving as contract administrator for public works projects, negotiating contract change orders, and approving progress payments
• Conducting field inspections of construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction and safety standards

Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California
• At least four years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience
• A valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record
