Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and establish business-aligned product architecture roadmaps and solution strategies to provide market distinction, differentiation, agility, scale and cost optimization
  • Partner with business stakeholders for strategic planning, road-mapping and prioritization. Lead, solution, deliver and drive capital investments for the assigned product families in collaboration with business and enterprise partners
  • Build and communicate architecture vision, blueprints and end-to-end solution roadmaps that define the future state product capabilities and solutions, and solution delivery sequencing through architecture transition states for assigned product families. Ensure ongoing roadmap alignment as new initiatives are introduced
  • Translate business goals for multiple lines of business, and identify common, shared business goals and solutions
  • Develop technology strategies that will lower the total cost to own and operate technology, while promoting modernization, reusability, simplification and market distinction
  • Lead change and innovation. Be a catalyst for business transformation and modernization through disruptive technology innovations
  • Drive and enable high-quality execution across organizational lines by partnering with engineering leaders. Work closely with project teams to help ensure we deliver, proactively
  • Provide industry, technology and market expertise and thought leadership to support and guide business decisions around strategic investments for the assigned product family
  • Decompose complex business strategies into initiatives relatable to each product family and product capabilities, to enable efficient architecture road mapping and solutions
  • Provide impact analysis, high level size of effort, support cost-benefit analysis and financial planning for complex business initiatives
  • Create product solution options that balances short term needs with long term architecture vision
  • Create and maintain architecture patterns, reference implementations, and guidelines to enable efficient, consistent and modern solution design and implementations
  • Lead IT responses for RFPs, and translate customer commitments into actionable program statements of work and architectures
  • Work across organizational silos to resolve dependencies and accelerate product architecture and solution decisions
  • Develop executive-facing materials to promote product architecture and technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business direction
  • Partner with other architects and business stakeholders to identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and products to achieve broader enterprise goals
  • Ensure optimal process in the team's ability to prioritize demand, efficient assignment of work, and timeline commitments are met
  • Coach and train junior level architects in creation of architecture frameworks, patterns and artifacts that promote and support business strategy
  • Influence without authority and negotiate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve win-win solutions that advance organizational goals

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in technology disciplines with primary focus on business strategy and architecture, product strategy and architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, data architecture, integrations architecture and technology architecture
  • 6+ years of experience in creating business, capability and architecture visions and blueprints with implementation roadmaps (may be asked to provide examples / artifacts)
  • 6+ years of full lifecycle software engineering experience using waterfall or agile frameworks
  • 3+ years of proven expertise of managing and leading cross-functional matrixed teams
  • 3+ years experience managing relationships, coalitions and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority
  • Experience estimating the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives
  • Proven success driving business technology strategies that lead to product distinction
  • Working knowledge and experience in any or all of the following business and technology areas: data management, data fabric, data analytics, data streaming technologies, event based architecture, NoSql and NewSQL technologies, APIs, microservices, SOA, cloud technologies, software/platform/infrastructure as a service, rules engines/BPMs, big data, predictive modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, mobile/digital applications, ambient technologies, data architecture and governance

Preferred Qualifcations:
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems or STEM related field
  • TOGAF certification or experience with PEAF, and/or other enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience with Agile Product development process; SAFE Agile certified
  • Experience working with COTS vendors like Facets, Healthedge, PEGA, SAP, etc. in solution selection, cost negotiations, development of service level agreements and creating implementation architectures
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Experience using HL7/FHIR, Healthcare EDI formats
  • Global team experience
  • Knowledge of the healthcare Claims, Provider and Finance domains
  • Local to Phoenix, AZ or Minneapolis, MN
  • Successfully able to handle multiple large-scale technology initiatives concurrently
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and collaboration skills and techniques to create innovative market leading solutions
