Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking enthusiastic PRN Medical Receptionists to become a vital part of our team.
The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience in medical reception tasks such as patient check-in and insurance verification within a healthcare environment. We prefer candidates with flexible availability, including weekdays and weekends.

Baptist Health Urgent Care operates 23 locations in Arkansas and is part of Urgent Team, a prominent independent operator of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. Our centers provide quality and affordable healthcare at more than 80 locations, under eight distinct brands.
Our convenient, walk-in centers offer various healthcare services, including treatment for injuries, illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. We are open seven days a week with the following hours: Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that the Fort Smith-Northside location operates on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. All Baptist Health Urgent Care centers are Accredited Care Centers, recognized for our commitment to safety, quality, and comprehensive services.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Receptionist will warmly welcome patients, activate patient files, and provide essential support to patients and medical staff. Full-time team members work 36-40 hours each week, including every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following tasks represent the expectations of this position but are not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned:
- Greet all patients and visitors professionally, assisting them through the registration process.
- Handle multi-line phone systems, manage filing, faxing, scanning documentation, and conduct daily patient callbacks.
- Check in and discharge patients, support clinical staff, and assist in closing the office at the end of each shift.
- Collect insurance information, verify patient demographics, process payments, post patient balances, and complete phone sheets.
- Maintain an organized and professional work environment.
- Follow all relevant health and safety protocols.
WHAT'S REQUIRED?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with basic computer software and ability to learn electronic medical records
- Prior experience in a medical office setting
