This position will be the subject matter expert for all welding processes within Howard Industries facilities. This position will be involved in welding design, process development, capital projects, procedure development, process improvement, welder training and weld quality.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate the welder training program at Howard IndustriesParticipate in engineering design reviews and manufacturing reviewsWelding Procedure developmentTroubleshooting welding equipment when neededTroubleshooting and solving weld quality issuesSpecify and order new equipment as neededParticipate in Automation projects as requiredParticipate in weld quality team meetingsOther tasks as assigned by managerEducation and ExperienceB.S. in Welding Engineering, Materials Joining Engineering or related degreeAbility to gain CWI certification or current CWI certification is preferredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesKnowledge of national welding codes such as AWS D1.1, AWS B2.1, AWS D9.1.Welding process knowledge of GMAW, GTAW, SW, ERW.Robot Programming knowledge is a plus.Ability to be hands-on in problem solving welding related issues and troubleshoot welding equipment.Ability to work independently and prioritize problems/projects as needed with little input.CAD experience including AutoCAD and InventorBe proficient in using Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
