This position provides assistance with the planning and implementation of maintenance construction and renovation activities necessary to maintain the buildings in excellent repair and condition.
• Carry out plans and directions from the Director of Facilities and the Superintendent of Schools
• Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work, and operate a variety of equipment in the construction operation, repair and maintenance of facilities
• Perform all plumbing work and other minor building repairs to electrical, furniture, lights, doors, windows, etc. as needed
• Operate and maintain light and medium size construction and power equipment
• Move bulk material such as boxes of supplies, books, etc.
• Move furniture such as desks, chairs, file cabinets, bookcases, etc.
• Snow Removal
• Painting
• Comply with Safety Rules and Regulations and satisfy OSHA requirements
• Perform responsibilities in a professional manner
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents, and school issues
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Superintendent
Additional Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• MA Licensed Plumber/HVAC
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience preferred
• Experience in commercial and residential plumbing and a working knowledge of carpentry
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required
• Must be able to work around children and be personable with others
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must have the ability to work alone or with others and to organize work on a daily basis
• Must be in good health and possess the ability to push, pull or lift
• Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces, i.e., attics, equipment rooms, etc.
• Must be available to respond to after school hours if needed
• Must be neat in appearance
• Must have an excellent work ethic and be dependable and punctual
• Must have use of most of your own tools
• Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
