  • Coordinate and manage the daily operation and maintenance of the Corporate Headquarters Campus life safety systems, including all facilities supported by Facilities Maintenance to ensure optimum system reliability and operational condition. Administer all maintenance performance, reporting to the Facilities Corporate Campus Senior Manager and will be responsible for managing the preventative maintenance and repair of all facilities owned or leased by Southwest Airlines on the Corporate Headquarters Campus. Also serve as a Team Leader on designated projects, supervising and directing the contributions of others upon assignment by the Sr. Manager and/or Director Corporate Campus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with life safety systems design and construction of all corporate facilities and their ongoing maintenance (i.e. Fire alarm and Fire sprinkler system)
  • Organize and review work that is performed by vendors
  • Identify risk for all equipment that could impact operational availability
  • Participate in organizational processes/initiatives, i.e., performance management, interviewing, budgeting, training, etc.
  • Develop and manage 24 x7 automation programs (Life Safety Building Automation System) to monitor critical, emergency generator, fire alarm, mass notification systems
  • Responsible for responding and/or dispatching vendor and/or Tech Team to address alarms to keep critical systems 100 reliable that serve the operational groups on the corporate campus
  • Manage direct, vendor relations, and contracts including expected response times to support the critical program
  • Coordinate with Emergency Response Team on all life safety processes and campus drills
  • Partner with Safety and Security, and SWA Insurance departments along with managing on site loss control walks and track safety recommendation initiatives on the campus
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employeeu2019s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the fire alarm fire sprinkler industry
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Life Safety, Critical Electrical / Mechanical systems operation
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Skilled in identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in fire alarm systems and/or life safety programs

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours and infrequent travel
