Job Summary
The Speech Pathologist will diagnose and provide therapy for patients with disorders of communication and swallowing. This role requires assessing and treating patients of various ages, from neonates to young adults, and ensuring timely and accurate evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver clinically appropriate evaluation and therapy services to patients with disorders of communication and swallowing.
• Evaluate and provide treatment for developmental disorders, clinical dysphagia, Modified Barium Swallow study, speaking valve, and oral motor disorders.
• Provide treatment to patients referred for Speech Therapy, using strategies based on patient age, diagnosis, evidence, and best practice.
• Document results of Speech Therapy services in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) within designated timeframes.
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.
• Licensed Speech Therapist through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
• New graduates must obtain Certification of Clinical Competency by ASHA within one year of hire.
