As a Technical Services Consultant at Guidehouse, you will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of transformational clean energy programs. These programs aim to evaluate and optimize program contributions towards climate, energy, and other goals.
Responsibilities
• Perform data analysis, technical engineering reviews, power systems modeling, and primary data collection
• Assist with power systems analysis, including transmission planning feasibility studies, System Impact Studies, and Generator Interconnection Studies
• Research thermal overloads and recommend mitigations/transmission upgrades
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power systems engineering from an accredited university or college AND Zero (0) years' experience OR PhD/Master's degree in electrical or power systems engineering from an accredited university or college AND Zero (0) years post-graduation/post-doctoral work experience
• In-depth knowledge of transmission and distribution systems from a planning and operations standpoint
• Familiarity with FERC, NERC, and state regulatory requirements and processes
• Ability to learn various power systems engineering tools such as PSLF, POWERWORLD Simulator, PSSE, ASPEN, TARA, CAPE, DSA Tools, PSCAD, or EMTP
