Apprentice Lineman

Washington Light and Power is pleased to announce an opening for the position
of Apprentice Lineman. This role offers an eJPosition Overview: As an Apprentice Lineman, you will work closely with experienced professionals, assisting in tasks such as:
* Installation and maintenance of electrical systems
* Working on and around energized high voltage electrical lines
* Troubleshooting transformer issues
* Metering
* Ensuring compliance with safety standards
Our program is designed to provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and practical application in line with industry standards.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, and wind)
* Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for prolonged durations, climb ladders, and learn to
climb utility poles
* Focus on the job at hand
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:
* Enrollment in a 5-year apprenticeship program through Indiana Municipal Electric
Association
* Required to stay out of town for 2 weeks for climbing school and 1 week per year for the classroom portion of the program
* Promotion and raise with completion of each portion of the apprenticeship
* Have a class B commercial drivers license or have the ability to obtain one.
