Job Description:Material Handler

This position entails effectively replenishing, ordering, and merchandising prepared foods products while also participating in promotional programs. Monitoring inventory control is an important aspect. Organizing and developing promotional displays and upholding required standards are also necessary. Providing excellent service, maintaining a positive company image, and following Standard Operating Procedures are all expected. Furthermore, being prepared to perform other duties as needed is required. Upholding core values, supporting store initiatives, and complying with health and safety regulations are also critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquires and refills culinary supplies utilizing sound buying strategies.
  • Responds to open purchase order and credit reports in a meticulous and expeditious manner.
  • The control specialist must actively work towards achieving turn goals and reducing shrink while also managing inventory to prevent spoilage.
  • Reduces the likelihood of product loss by following spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheet procedures.
  • Assists in both counter service and culinary preparations on the assigned time or as necessary.
  • Partners with the Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader to stay informed on ordering demands and any potential problems.
  • Keeps up a congenial engagement with contractors and suppliers.
  • Works together with the Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader(s) in determining the recipe's financial implications.
  • Manages the special order process for customers based abroad.
  • Assists leaders with the inventory procedure.
  • The key to maintaining strong financial performance lies in meeting and exceeding targets for both purchases and sales.
  • Commences work on the designated station punctually, impeccably dressed, well-groomed and prepared to carry out duties, ensuring prompt attendance for all assigned shifts, and participating in mandatory trainings and meetings.
  • The provision of exceptional customer service involves responding quickly and effectively to the needs of customers while also showcasing suggestive selling skills. The swift and polite answering of phones and pages is also essential.
  • Enhances sales likelihood by utilizing productive and accurate techniques for preparing, arranging, cycling, supplying, and presenting items.
  • Conforms to the prescribed protocols and guidelines, such as those governing Weights and Measures, health and hygiene, and safe work procedures, to foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Prioritizes the cleanliness and sanitation of the working and shopping environment, and ensures that equipment is always well-maintained to meet WFM's safety and hygiene standards.
  • Guaranteeing the accuracy of signs and pricing is achieved through attentive completion of assigned opening, mid, and closing duties.
