Salary and Benefits
The estimated total compensation for this role includes a weekly salary, training and camp preparation rate, potential bonus and commission, and other benefits. The weekly salary is $1,450, based on geography and tenure. Training and camp preparation rate is $23 per hour, based on geographic location and tenure. Potential bonus and commission opportunities are available for camper enrollment and add-on weeks.
Job Description
This is a seasonal role working with K-8 age campers, requiring strong leadership and management skills. As a Camp Director, you will oversee summer day camp operations, manage and mentor staff, and cultivate a culture of curiosity, creativity, and endless fun for all. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming, joyful environment that embodies the magic of Camp Galileo. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to work part-time remotely and full-time on-site during the summer season.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have 3+ years of experience in K-8 education or a combination of relevant coursework and experience. You should also have 1+ year of demonstrated management experience and the ability to coach a team towards success. Additionally, you should be able to travel to two onsite training events during the pre-camp season and have valid CPR/First Aid certification or be able to become certified prior to the start of camp.
